HİSTORY

Life in Sütçüler County dates back to 1st century B.C. and inhabitants of the district called Pisidians who were warriors and addicted to their independence. They fighted agains the armies of. Alexander the Great in 333 B.C some of the Pisidians had left their homeland for paid military service. It was understood from the graves of the Pisidian soldiers  which have found in Cyprus and Phoenicia.

In 395 A.C. when Roman Empire separated, the district continued it's existence in Byzantium Empire. Saint Paul and his friends have commenced their walk from Perge in 45 A.D. to reach Pisidia Antiocheia. Life in Adada continued till 9 th Century and after that Sütçüler is described as a town under the region of the Hamitoğlu Principality of the Seljukians. In 1390 Hamitoğlu Principality becomes a member of Ottoman Empire. Seljukian edifice still existing today is the Mosque of Seferağa (1276) that is standing still.

 

  Sütçüler and its surrounding flagged under Hamitoğlu Beyliği in Sultan Murat the 1st's time. Its name was Bavullu until changing as Cebel (1868). In 28/05/1938 it took the name of Sütçüler and became a county (with 3919 numbered offical gazette, 3393 numbered law). Stables can be seen as examples of civil architecture.
